Why Make Mediterranean Flatbread?

It’s similar to a pizza but so much more fun in flavors and easier to whip up.

Chocked full of vegetables and Mediterranean ingredients. It is vegetarian, but add shredded chicken for extra protein if desired. The perfect weekday lunch. No fuss with dough, make it on store bought flatbread or naan bread. You can also try my BBQ Chicken Flatbread for a different flavor combo!

This flatbread is fun to share, or you can eat it by yourself as a nice meal ready in 20 minutes. Make it with my Homemade Creamy Hummus or use store bought hummus.

Ingredients Needed

  • Naan or Flatbread. Both are great. This is the base of the recipe.
  • Roasted Red Peppers. I like to use jarred red peppers to cut back on time. they add a lot of color and flavor.
  • Red Onion. This adds color and a bit to the toppings.
  • Hummus. This is the base of the flatbread. Use store bought or you can make my homemade creamy hummus. It takes about 15 minutes to make and you will have extras for the week.
  • Olives. Use any olives of choice I like to use kalamata but green olives will also work great.
  • Balsamic Glaze. This is the “icing” on the top it adds a tart sweetness that pairs beautifully with the ingredients. This is the brand I use. You can find other brands in the oil and vinegar aisle.

This was a hit! I used garlic naan and ground lamb. Will definitely make again!

    1. So impressed by the ground lamb addition! I will have to give that combo a try. Thanks for making it and for the feedback! Happy cooking. Xoxo

  3. Question! Do you have a brand of artichokes do you prefer to use for this?

    1. I like to use the marinated ones from Reese or Mezzetta, if doing canned I typically just get the Kroger brand.

This was delicious, I served it with your Lemon Herb Tahini dressing and my family loved it.

  5. 5! I didnโ€™t have the red peppers so I subbed roasted green peppers (along with the roasted garlic and red onion) and I used up a little pepper jack ( still used mozzarella and feta)and it was better than any pizza I can remember eating! Thank you!!

  6. This looks amazing! However, Iโ€™m not a fan of hummus. What would be a great substitute?
    Many thanks!
