Why Make Big Mac Sliders

I can go on and on about these sliders. They just check all the boxes for me. Sliders are quite honestly my favorite appetizer at any gathering. From my Roast Beef Sliders to my Shredded Chicken Sliders, I can’t name a favorite.

  • Easy to Make. Just a few simple steps!
  • Mess Free. The burger portion is baked in the oven creating less mess!
  • Homemade. The big mac sauce (special sauce) is made from scratch. YOU get to control what goes in it.

Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make this recipe on a counter in bowls and on small plates.

All other ingredients and measurements can be found in the recipe card towards the bottom of this post.

  • Ground Beef. Use lean ground beef! Ground turkey will also work well.
  • Seasonings. Salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder.
  • Worcestershire Sauce. This goes into the patties for extra flavor.
  • Onions. Onions go in the burger and in the Big Mac sauce.
  • Pickles. For topping and for the sauce.
  • Shredded Lettuce. For topping the big mac sliders.
  • Cheddar Cheese. I like cheddar for many reasons, but american cheese slices works great too.
  • Slider Buns. I typically opt for Kings Hawaiian sliders, they have a lovely sweet flavor but any will work.
  • Butter/Sesame Seeds. This is for topping the sliders to give them more of a classic flavor.

Big Mac Sauce For The Sliders

  • Mayonnaise.
  • Yellow Mustard.
  • Relish. I use sweet relish but use what you prefer.
  • Seasonings. Salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder.

What To Serve With Sliders

There are so many great appetizers to serve with sliders. I love Smoked Queso or Pan Fried Feta, Hot Honey Chicken Wings. Additionally, dips like Creamy Hummus and Cream Cheese Corn Dip..

Bic Mac Slider Tips

  • Try not to overcook the beef.
  • Save some of the sauce to dip the sliders in. Don’t forget to taste the sauce as you go.
  • Don’t put the lettuce on until after baking.
  • Make it healthier. Use ground turkey in place of the beef and skip the cheese to cut back on calories.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. I do not recommend freezing these.

Recipe FAQs

Can these be made ahead of time?

Yes, but I prefer them fresh out of the oven to avoid overcooking the meat.

What other toppings pair well with these sliders?

Sauté some mushrooms or peppers for extra veggies. You can also top them with avocado slices.

  • Bake The Beef. in the baking dish in the oven for about 10-12 minutes. Make the big mac sauce in the meantime, set aside.
  • Pour out the excess grease into the trash once they are cooked.Let them cool, slice them into equal squares (about 12).
  • Build the Sliders. Place the slider bun bottoms in the 9×9 pan. Brush the bottoms with big mac sauce, add the beef square, cheese, pickles and another tbsp of sauce. Place the bun tops on.
  • Melt the butter, brush the bun tops generously and sprinkle them with the sesame seeds. Pop in the oven to bake on 350º for 8- 10 minutes or just until the cheddar is melted. Gently slice the sliders and serve warm with extra big mac sauce.

Big Mac Sauce

  • Whisk the sauce together while the burger bakes. Add all ingredients (mayo, mustard, relish, seasonings) to a bowl and whisk well. Taste and adjust as needed.
