Why Make These Air Fryer Zucchini Fries
Easy to make and fun for the whole family. These Air Fryer Zucchini Fries are gluten free! If you aren't gluten free you can easily sub the ingredients for regular flour and regular breadcrumbs.
These Air Fryer Zucchini Fries are crunchy on the outside, with breadcrumbs and parmesan. They are moist and cooked to perfection in the center. They are great on their own fresh out of the air fryer or you can dip them in your favorite sauce. The seasonings really kick this veggie fry up a notch. They are a great way to get more plants onto your plate!
Ingredients Needed
- Zucchini. You can also use a yellow summer squash if needed. You will need about 2 medium sized zucchinis.
- Gluten free bread crumbs. If you aren't gluten free, you can use regular bread crumbs or panko in place.
- Parmesan. this helps to crisp up the fries and offers a great flavor.
- Seasoning. You will need garlic powder, paprika, onion powder.
- Unsweetened almond milk.
- For the optional dipping sauce use my Lemon Honey Tahini
Steps To Make
Step one. Get two medium sized bowls out. Make your egg and milk wash in one. And in the second bowl add your flour, seasoning, bread crumbs and whisk together well.
Step two. Slice your zucchinis into "fries" equal sizes so they cook evenly. See the above photo for reference on size. I like to cut them in halve then cut each have into 4ths or thinner.
Step three. Line your air fryer with tin foil to help prevent the batter from sticking. Dip one fry at a time into the egg wash, then into the dry mix and lay them close together but do not overlap. Once all the zucchini fries are laid out flat, sprinkle with cheese.
Step four. Place in the air fryer on 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Please note, air fryers are all different and temps and times may vary. If you have a small cylinder air fryer you make need to bake them in two batches. For the optional dipping sauce, use my Lemon Honey Tahini Dressing
