Why Make These Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

These burgers are healthier than your average burger made with lean ground turkey.

  • Come together quick! They can be made in about 30 minutes or less, similar to my Turkey Smash Burgers!
  • No messes with these air fryer burgers, simply pop it in the fryer and let them cook, no splatter or fuss.
  • The topping options are endless and fully customizable. The jalapeño mayo is optional but extra tasty, it would be great on BBQ Pulled Chicken as well. Enjoy these any day of the week or for your next get together.

Ingredients Needed

Ingredients needed to make air fried turkey burgers.
  • Ground Turkey. I typically use a 90/10 or a 93/7 blend of ground turkey. Choose your favorite brand. Which is also great for my Korean Ground Turkey.
  • Red Onion. This adds flavor and moisture to the burgers.
  • Seasoning. Italian blend, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt.
  • Garlic. Fresh finely minced garlic for aromatics, powdered garlic will also work.
  • Breadcrumbs. Use gluten free or regular breadcrumbs. They add moisture and help the burgers stick together. Use parmesan cheese if you’d like a low carb options.
  • Worcestershire Sauce. This is one of my favorite condiments, it flavors meat so well, it’s salty and delicious.
  • Liquid Smoke. One of my favorite secret ingredients to burgers. It add a nice “meaty” smoked flavor and pairs great with the seasoning.
  • Jalapeño Mayo. This is optional! A wonderful spread for the burgers. This will need jalapeños, lime, salt, pepper, garlic.

Optional Toppings. Romaine, avocado, cheese slices, ketchup, mustard.

Recipe Variations

  • Low Carb Option. Use parmesan cheese instead of breadcrumbs. You can also ditch the bun and wrap them in lettuce.
  • Make them on the stovetop in a cast iron skillet for a nice crisp exterior instead of the air fryer!

Air Fryer Turkey Burger Tips

  • Don’t overcook the burgers! It’s always best to have a digital meat thermometer.
  • Taste the jalapeño aioli as you go! You might want to add more spice or you can add a squeeze more of lime/lemon
  • Feel free to fry these in a cast iron skillet for a nice crispy exterior. Place it on a heated skillet on high and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through.
  • If serving with cheese, place the cheese on the burgers in the air fryer 1 minute before they are finished cooking.

Recipe FAQ’s

It the jalapeño Aioli spicy?

It really depends on the jalapeño. You can discard the seeds and flesh to make it less spicy. You can also skip the spread if needed.

What To Serve With Air Fried Turkey Burgers

These burgers are wonderful with my Asian Cabbage Salad, Homemade Crispy Fries, Beet and Feta Salad, Greek Cucumber Salad. These burgers are also yummy and filling on their own.

This was really tasty, My picky husband even loved them more than regular burgers. I think it was the liquid smoke and smoked paprika that sold him. Also, the jalapeño mayo was top-notch. Another SB win!
