Why Make Turkey Smash Burgers

These smash burgers are wonderful. I don’t typically love turkey burgers but THESE are insanely good, and my husband even loved them. They are bit healthier than your average burger, and great for those who don’t eat red meat.

You won’t miss the beef. Just like my Korean Ground Turkey, you will enjoy the ground turkey flavor. The key to the flavor is the crispy char on the outside of the thin patty and the seasoning explosion in the meat (so tasty!). Make these on the Blackstone smash burgers camping, in the yard for a BBQ party or cook them on the stovetop year round.

Ingredients Notes

Ingredients on a counter with labels in small bowls.

Ground Turkey. Lean ground turkey is perfect for this meal. You can also use chicken but turkey is the way to go!

Oil. This is to fry up the smash burger. You will need the oil on the stove and on the Blackstone grill.

Worcestershire Sauce. This is the key to the ultimate flavor! I love Worcestershire with bbq flavors. It’s salty and adds a depth of flavor.

Seasoning. Salt, pepper, thyme, garlic powder.

Red Onion. Finely diced onions to add to the turkey meat for more moisture and to prevent the smash patties from drying out.

Toppings. Tomato, lettuce, cheese, any other burger faves.

Recipe Variations

Ground Turkey. Ground beef will also work.

Worcestershire Sauce. Soy sauce will also work.

Buns. make this healthier by using a lettuce wrap or serving them over a salad.

These are a must make. I don’t typically like Turkey burgers. But thought i’d give these a try. Because we’re trying to eat a little healthier. And gosh, they were so flavourful. My husband made them on the Blackstone.

These are the best turkey burgers by far! They are so flavorful and delicious. I make them on the regular. My family loves them too, and thatโ€™s saying a lot because my husband is a big burger guy. I canโ€™t eat beef, so Iโ€™ve tried many different turkey burgers and these are a winner in my book. I use the 85% lean 15% fat ground turkey, which helps maintain moisture. I typically cook them on my George Foreman grill, but have made them on the skillet too and they are equally tasty.

    1. Hi Ashley! I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed these, they are a house favorite. I need to try them on my G Foreman!

These smash turkey burgers were delicious. This was my first time making a smash burger. I’ve never had successful with juicy, flavorful turkey burgers but this smash burger way is it! The seasons were very simple but the burger had great flavor. I will definitely add this to my recipe rotation.

These came out great! My new favorite way to make turkey burgers! I used 90/10 turkey so the Worcestershire sauce and onion added much needed flavor. My family has always added a Lipton onion packet to turkey burgers for flavor but I think this is a much better lower sodium option.
