Ingredients Needed To Make This Recipe

Beef Roast. You can find this with all the other beef products in the grocery store. Roasts are best cooked low and slow which makes it perfect for the slow cooker.
Worcestershire Sauce. This gives gives the meat a nice depth of flavor.
Onion Bullion. I use “Better Than Bullion” brand. This adds a really nice savory flavor to the meat and the sauce. This is usually found in the soup aisle near the broths.
Beef Broth. Choose a high quality low sodium beef broth.
Seasoning. Salt, pepper, paprika, thyme.
All other ingredients and measurements can be found in the recipe card below.
Recipe Variations
Beef Roast. You can also use stew meat! This will result in a similar texture and cook a bit quicker, however it can be a bit more expensive already cut n trimmed.
Onion Bullion. Onion soup mix will also work, just add 1 Tbsp to 1/2 tsp of water and mix a bit.
Beef Broth. Any broth will work great, beef is just preferred to pair with the meat.
Red Wine. This is optional but I do highly recommend it, it adds a depth of flavor to help with the richness of the beef.
Egg Noodles. Use any noodle of choice! Egg noodles are traditional for this recipe but of course penne or rigatoni would be great. You can also serve this over rice.
Corn Starch. This helps to thicken the juices and sauce from the beef remanents that coat the noodles. You can also use arrow root.
Steps To Make This Recipe

Step One. Set the crockpot/slow cooker to high heat. Add the wine. Mix the seasonings together in a bowl. Rub the beef with the seasoning on both sides (photo 1).
Step Two. Place the meat into the slow cooker, add the Worcestershire sauce and bullion. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the meat, add the minced garlic and onions (photo 3). Add in the beef broth. Cover the crockpot.
Step Three. Cook the beef for about 5-6 hours on high or until it is cooked through and tender. If the meat isn’t shredded easily, it needs more time to cook! Once it’s finished, shred it with two forks and turn the slow cooker to low. Next, cook the egg noodles according to package directions.
Step Four. Once the noodles are done, divide them up into bowls and serve a healthy portion of the beef and sauce over the noodles. Option to garnish with parsley and enjoy!
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can freeze these for up to 2 months.

Recipe FAQs
Use various cuts of beef, but tougher cuts like chuck roast or stew meat work best. They become tender and flavorful during the long cooking process.
Cooking times can vary depending on the specific cut and size of the meat generally on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 5-6 hours until it’s tender and easy to shred. It can take a little longer than other meats so be patient.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat portions in the microwave or on the stovetop, adding a little extra broth or water if needed to prevent the noodles from drying out.
Recipe Tips
Be Patient! When it comes to a beef roast, patience is key. Sometimes it needs an extra 30 minutes in the slow cooker to completely tenderize and be delightful
Thicken the Sauce. If you want an even thicker sauce, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1/2 tsp cold water and stir it into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving. Allow it to simmer a bit longer to thicken.
Add in veggie for more color if you want. You can add in carrots and mushrooms 1 hour before serving into the hot slow cooker.
Recipe Pairings
This meal is great on it’s own but it pairs well with Garlic Rolls or a slice of Overnight Bread. You can also serve a yummy salad with it like my Lemon Kale Caesar.
