How To Make Avocado Fries.

Steps to make avocado fries.

Step one. Slice your slightly unripe avocado into even sliced slices. Lay flat on a plate and squeeze lime juice over the slices. This will prevent browning.

Step two. Assemble 3 bowls. One with the egg beaten in it. One bowl with the flour and seasonings whisked together well. The third bowl will have your almond breadcrumbs or your panko crumbs. Next line a cooking sheet with parchment paper and place your bowls in this order: Flour, egg mixture, breadcrumbs.

Step three. Dunk your lemon juiced avocado slice into the almond flour/seasoning mix and coat it. Next dip it into the egg wash and end with rolling it into the breadcrumbs. Gently lay it on the cooking sheet and be careful not to overlap avocado slices. Bake for 15 minutes. Or airfry on 390 for 10 minutes

I want these to be dairy free.

Then be sure to use almond breadcrumbs by lightly pulsing them in a blender or food processor. Most panko breadcrumbs have dairy in it.

I am allergic to almonds.

You can use regular flour and crushed gluten free crackers in place of the almond flour and almond crumbs.

Do the avocado slices need to be served hot?

No, in fact I prefer them cooled a bit or you can refrigerate them before serving.

I have a lot left over!

Top salads with them, use as a side dish to any protein or serve them in tortillas as tacos.

Cook: 15 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 2 large avocados (California Avocados) , Not overly ripe!
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • cup almond flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup almonds or panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Step one. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice your slightly unripe avocado into even sliced slices. Lay flat on a plate and squeeze lime juice over the slices. This will prevent browning.
  • Step two. If using almond breadcrumbs, place almonds in a food processor and pulse until they are breadcrumb consistency. You can be the judge here and use whatever texture you prefer. Assemble 3 bowls. One with the egg beaten in it. One bowl with the flour and seasonings whisked together well. The third bowl will have your almond breadcrumbs or your panko breadcrumbs. Next line a cooking sheet with parchment paper and place your bowls in this order: Flour, egg mixture, breadcrumbs
  • Step three.

Notes

*Make sure your avocados aren’t too ripe. They should still be firm and just barely soft to the touch for the perfect texture of fries.
*use regular flour if you have an almond allergy
*Panko breadcrumbs often have dairy in it so use homemade almond breadcrumbs in place if needed. Pulse them in a food processor until they are the consistency preferred.
