This Peanut Butter Banana Bread is full of flavor, texture and a perfect treat.

Lets be honest for a minute, when am I not in the mood for nut butter? Fortunately I do not have any nut allergies so I am always finding ways to incorporate more nut butter into my life. If you or your children have a peanut allergy you can easily swap the peanut butter for cashew, walnut, pecan or almond butter.

What does this peanut butter banana bread taste like?

Well it taste like peanut butter banana toast in a sense. You can taste both flavors well so it’s a great combination if you like peanut butter with your banana. It is a bit sweet, but not overkill so you can easily have this for a breakfast treat, snack or dessert. I like to warm mine up a bit and spread some butter on it.

What you will need for this recipe

One Egg. Room temperature is preferred

Peanut Butter. Creamy or crunchy will work. I opted for crunchy because I love the texture. If you have allergies, opt for cashew butter or almond butter.

three over ripe bananas, mashed. If you don’t have over ripe bananas I suggest you sauté the bananas you do have in a pan with a tsp of oil to soften them up.

Sugar. Yes sugar, you can use any sugar you have on hand. I used coconut sugar. White sugar will work just fine.

Oil of butter. You can use vegan butter, regular butter or melted coconut butter.

Flour. I used regular all purpose flour but you can also use all purpose gluten free if you have allergies.

Vanilla extract, salt and baking soda.

You will want to mix your ingredients in two separate bowls. One for wet ingredients and one for dry.

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

This banana bread has a ton of flavor, a little crunch and it's a crowd pleaser for all ages (kids too!). Option to add granola for a pop of flavor.

  • cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 Over ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or butter
  • 1 egg room temp
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 /2 cup chunky peanut butter or any nut butter you prefer!
  • 1 tsp cinnamon


  • Mix all the dry ingredients into a large bowl whisk together and get clumps out. Mix all wet ingredients together in a seperate bowl and lightly and pour into dry ingredients. Mix together well.
  • Bake at 350 in a loaf pan for 55 min or until cooked all the way through (check with a toothpick, it should come out clean!)
