A Few Tips Before Getting Started

  • Slice the sprouts into even sizes so they cook evenly.
  • I toss the loose leaves that fall off so they don’t burn up in the oven.
  • Be sure you lay them flat with the flat side down on the baking sheet and not overlapping for the best roast.
  • Taste the honey balsamic sauce before putting it on the Brussels sprouts. You can easily modify the sauce to your liking. Making it sweeter with honey or more tangy with the mustard.

Ingredients To Make Honey Balsamic Brussel Sprouts

All other ingredients and measurements can be found in the recipe card towards the bottom of this post.

  • Brussel Sprouts. Fresh is best and what I highly recommend
  • Cooked Bacon. This is optional but so so delicious.
  • Honey. Use a high quality yummy honey that you enjoy. Hot honey will also work well.
  • Whole Grain Mustard. This is the secret weapon to this recipe. It ties everything together well and creates a nice savory flavor.
  • Balsamic Vinegar. This is a main ingredient and the flavor for the sauce on the sprouts. You can se balsamic glaze but then you will need to wait to add it until you are just about to serve the sprouts.

Steps To Make Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts

steps to make this recipe on a baking sheet and pan.
  • Make the bacon. This is optional but I highly recommend it in this dish, it’s our favorite way to enjoy it.
  • Prepare the brussel sprouts. The best way to do this is to clean them, peel back any damaged leaves and then slice them in equal sizes in half vertically.
  • Lay the brussel sprouts flat on the baking sheet. Grease the baking sheet and make sure they are not overlapping, laying flat with the flat side down. These will bake on 425º for about 25 minutes until they are nice and crispy.

  • Make the honey balsamic sauce while they bake. This is the perfect time to whip it up. Melt the butter, add the honey, balsamic, soy sauce mustard garlic and chopped bacon.
  • Dress them. Once the brussles are roasted to your liking, pull them out and drizzle half of the sauce over them. Pop back into the oven and roast for just 2 minutes to bring them to heat.
  • Serve. Add to a bowl, pour over leftover sauce and bacon and serve warm. Delicious.

What To Serve With Balsamic Honey Brussels Sprouts

Well, I can easily eat this entire batch in one sitting they are just so dang good. But I suggest you serve it with some protein or other sides. Of course Thanksgiving turkey or rotisserie pairs great but there are so many other options.
