Why Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

Chicken, Bacon and Ranch are a dream combination. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t approve of these flavors. It’s a great crowd pleaser that will get your guests excited to come over!

The sliders are really easy to make, they come together in about 30 minutes as long as the bacon and chicken is already cooked. You can customize the toppings to suit your taste buds but over all a few simple ingredients makes for the BEST, easy appetizer. Ingredients Needed

Ingredients needed to make this recipe on small plates and bowls.

Shredded Chicken. You can use homemade shredded (cooked) chicken or rotisserie.

Bacon. Cooked bacon is used for this recipe. Cook it however you’d like, chop in into small bite sized pieces.

Slider Rolls. I use King Hawaiian slider rolls, the sweet rolls offer a wonderful flavor. You can use any slider roll of choice.

Pickled Jalapeños. These are found in the condiment aisle near the pickles. They add a great tangy spice to the sliders.

Seasoning. This recipe has a homemade ranch seasoning. Dried dill, basil, garlic, onion, salt, pepper.

Plain Greek Yogurt. Yogurt is the base of the homemade ranch. Yogurt gives it a tang and it’s a bit healthier than regular ranch off the shelf.

All other ingredients and measurements can be found in the recipe card towards the bottom of this post.

Recipe Variations And Substitutions

Shredded Chicken. If you don’t want to use shredded chicken, you can use lunch meat chicken! Just chop it up into bite sized pieces, it’s just as tasty ad rotisserie.

Plain Greek Yogurt (Ranch). You can use shelf bought ranch dressing if you wan to cut down effort with this recipe. You can also substitute sour cream in place of the yogurt.

Ranch Seasoning. If you’d prefer to use store bought ranch or premixed ranch seasoning, just omit the seasonings in the recipe.

Steps To Make Bacon Ranch Sliders

White ceramic bowl with chicken and bacon in it.

Step One. Make the bacon if it’s not already prepared. You can cook it your preferred way. Cook until crispy and then drain on a paper towel lined plate or bowl, cut into small pieces.

Step Two. Preheat the oven to 350º. In a medium sized bowl, make the yogurt ranch dressing. Add the yogurt and seasonings, add 1/4 cup of water to thin the sauce out, feel free to add a little more water if needed to thin the dressing out. Taste it and make sure it’s to your salted level.

Step Three. In a bowl, combine shredded (cooked) chicken, the cooked bacon pieces, and a little less than 1/2 cup of ranch dressing. Mix this up and as long as the mixture is moist, do not add any more dressing. If the mixture looks dry, add a little bit more dressing and mix again.

Build The Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

Step Four. Cut the rolls in half so that you have one sheet of bottom rolls and one sheet of top rolls. *I find it’s easiest to cut this way if you take the rolls out of the package and let them sit on the counter to “dry” out for a few minutes. It makes it much easier to slice!

Step Five. Place the bottom of the rolls in a 9×9 or similar sized baking dish. Using a pastry brush or a spoon, add a thin layer of yogurt ranch dressing to the inside of the bottom rolls. Add the chicken bacon mixture and then sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken. You can used sliced cheese or shredded, I find that shredded melted better.

Step Six. Place the top sheet of rolls over the sliders. Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan & chive. Cover the rolls tightly with foil, place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top of the sliders get a little crispy and browned.

Step Seven. Pull the sliders out, let them cool for a few minutes. Use a sharp knife to gently cut them up and enjoy!

Recipe FAQs

What kind of chicken is best?

You can use canned, shredded, rotisserie or even deli sliced chicken (sandwich style) for this recipe. They all work great.

How do I store these sliders?

Store the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders in a glass airtight container. You can reheat them in the microwave or in an air fryer on low for a few minutes.

Recipe Tips

Be sure to shred or chop the chicken well. The smaller the chicken is the better it will cut once out of the oven.

If you want the cheese to be extra melty, shred it! I have tried cheese slices and shredded, both work but I fund shredding the cheese ensured more melting.

Don’t overcook the sliders! You don’t want the buns to get too hard, make sure you only cook them until they just start to crisp.
