Equipment

  • air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1-1½ lb chicken breast *see notes
  • Tbsp corn starch optional - but this helps create a crispy coating
  • ½ tsp salt *less if using a salty "everything but the bagel mix"*
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1-2 tsp Everything But The Bagel Seasoning Optional *use less if it's a salty version of the mix
  • ½ tbs olive oil more as needed

Instructions

  • Pat chicken dry with a paper towel. Cut into tender sized pieces, about 2 inches in length and width typically. In a medium bowl add cornstarch and seasoning, whisk well.
  • Add oil and chicken breasts to the bowl and mix really well so the chicken breasts are evenly coated.
  • Place a small piece of parchment paper in the air fryer (optional). Spritz the air fryer tray or parchment with spray, lay the chicken tenders flat across the tray. Don't overlap the chicken tenders. Air fry on 350º for about 13-14 minutes or until the chicken is 165º internally.
*for the oven, place parchment on a cookie sheet and lay tenders flat. Bake on 375º for about 10 minutes, turn the tenders and bake on the other side for another 5-6 minutes.
  • Let them cool a bit and serve with dipping sauce of choice (BBQ, ketchup, honey mustard, ranch and so on.

Notes

*You can also use precut chicken tenders or cube breasts yourself
*Arrowroot will also work in place of cornstarch.
*The best and crispier version of these will need to be in an air fryer, but the oven is great too for a softer exterior.
*cayenne pepper has spice to it, if you are sensitive to heat or making for children, please skip this spice.
*avocado oil will also work.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or you can freeze for up to two months. Defrost before heating up in the air fryer or oven.
