Servings: 9
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter, well stirred
- ½ cup honey
- 3½ cup s cheerios *see notes
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp avocado oil
Add honey, oil and peanut butter to a medium size sauce pan. Stir the mixture over low heat. Once the mix is warm, and just beginning to bubble a small bit remove it from heat.
Pour in cheerios (or any cereal) and mix well with a spatula. In a parchment lined 7x7 or similar size dish, firmly press the cereal mix down into the dish. The smaller the dish the thicker the bars, if it's a bigger dish they will just be slightly thinner. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Once they are chilled and sticking together firmly, pop them out of the dish and slice into bars. Enjoy!
- Use any cereal you love! Fruit loops, or cocoa puffs will also work great.
- Add ins. You can add in m&ms or chopped peanuts, even mini chocolate chips make a great add!
- Almond butter will also work well. If you need to change it up for allergies.
- Do not burn the peanut butter. It just needs to warm up enough to mix well with the honey.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
