Make the hot honey. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl or small jar. Set aside.
Next prepare feta. Take block and gently lay on a plate. Pat dry with a paper towel. In a medium bowl, mix breadcrumbs and seasonings (garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt black pepper) together.
Warm olive oil in a skillet or pan on medium high heat. In a shallow bowl, whisk egg together. Dredge (dunk) the entire block of feta in the egg wash. Then quickly place it into the breadcrumb mixture. Be sure all sides of the feta is covered well. You can gently press the feta and breadcrumbs down onto the cheese. Feel free to dredge twice if you have leftovers.
Once the olive oil is warmed, turn heat to medium and place feta on oil. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side or until the breadcrumbs are browned and crispy.
Place feta on serving dish while warm, drizzle honey over it generously. Add basil, tomatoes, lemon zest and juice over the top and enjoy with pita, crackers or bread!
