Servings: 4
- ½ cup onion, diced
- 1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

- ½ cup cherry tomatoes sliced
- ⅓ cup pickles *any flavor of pickles!
- 9 oz french fries (frozen or fresh made)
Big Mac Sauce *optional
- 4 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 Tbsp sweet relish
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp pepper
Gather ingredients. Chop up toppings (tomatoes, pickles, bacon and set them to the side). If you are using fries, bake them now according to the package or follow my Homemade Crispy Fries Recipe. Make the Big Mac Sauce. In a small bowl whisk together ingredients. (4 Tbsp mayonnaise, 2 Tbsp yellow mustard, 2 Tbsp sweet relish, ¼ tsp paprika, ¼ tsp pepper) . To thin the sauce a little, add 1 tsp of water to the mix until desired consistency.
Dice the onion. In a medium sized pan, add a spritz of olive oil and heat on medium heat Add the onions and season with a pinch of salt/pepper. Sauté for about 3 minutes or until browned and sweating.
Cook the Beef. Add the ground beef to the pan on medium heat. Season the beef (½ tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp cracked black pepper, 1 tsp dried thyme). Continue to cook until beef is browned. Soak up the excess grease with a paper towel. Once the grease is soaked up, add in the Worcestershire Sauce and balsamic, simmer for 1 minute and top with shredded cheese. Let it melt a tad and take the beef off the heat. In a bowl, add lettuce, hamburger meat, toppings (pickles, onions, tomatoes, cheese, fries) and drizzle optional big mac sauce over the bowl.
*This is optional, use frozen french fries (baked according to instructions) or make my Homemade Crispy Fries Recipe.
- Make ahead. You can meal prep these cheeseburger bowls by chopping all the toppings, sautéing the onions, cooking the hamburger and then storing everything separately in airtight containers. Assemble the bowls when you are ready to eat.
- Don't overcook the ground beef, it can get rubbery if you don't keep an eye on it.
- Top with what you love! These are so customizable, add any burger toppings of choice.
- I did change the sauce in this recipe recently! To make the dijonnaise sauce instead of big mac sauce, follow the recipe as is use Dijon mustard skip the relish and paprika
- Storage Tips. Store any leftovers for up to 4 days by keeping the beef in a separate container. Wait to add lettuce until you are ready to enjoy.
