Equipment

  • glass jar with air tight lid to store ½ cup of chili onion crunch condiment
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dried minced garlic *see notes, aka dehydrated
  • ¼ cup dried toasted onion
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika *regular paprika will also work
  • ½ Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ Tbsp salt *add more to taste if needed
  • ¼ cup light neutral olive oil *see notes for substitute, please add more if you prefer it more oily

Instructions

  • Measure ingredients and add to a medium bowl or a glass jar, mix well and enjoy! Store in a small glad jar with an airtight lid.
  • This recipe makes about ½ cup of the chili onion crunch condiment. You can add a few extra Tablespoons of oil as needed to make the spread more runny.

Notes

*also called dehydrated onions & garlic, found in the spice aisle at most grocery stores.
*use a neutral olive oil or avocado oil works great for this recipe.
*If you are sensitive to spice, feel free to skip or add less red pepper flakes.
Store in a cool dark place. This will keep best if stored somewhere away from the heat and sunshine, please practice food safety when it comes to homemade condiments. You can store in the refrigerator but the oil can solidify a bit, if this happens simply bring it to room temperature. This will keep in the fridge for up to 1 month.
Taste as you go! Be sure to taste the chili onion crunch. You may want more salt or more red pepper flakes.
Add More Texture. You can add more texture by adding in a Tbsp of sesame seeds or hemp seeds. Both add a little more nutty texture.
What to put it on. toast, eggs, pasta, pizza, crackers, feta, and more. Options are endless.
