    Vegan Cinnamon Donut Holes

Published: Dec 22, 2018 · Modified: Jul 3, 2020 by Bailey · This post may contain affiliate links.

These were one heck of an experiment gone right… and I have made them twice in two weeks I took a batch to my best friends baby shower and they were gone within an hour, no one knew they were vegan (which was the best part in my opinion). There are two ways to prep them, for the traditional donut texture - fry them in coconut oil. For a more cinnamon roll type of treat, bake them and add icing. Try your best not too eat them all in one sitting 😉

    Ingredients:

    • 1.5 C all purpose flour (GF works as well) ~

    • 1/3 C coconut sugar

    • 1 tsp Baking powder

    • 1 tsp baking soda

    • a pinch of salt

    • 1 chia egg (1Tbs chia soaked in 2.5 tbs water)

    • 2 tbs plant based butter ( I used Melt Organic)

    • 1/2 C of almond milk (keep a small bowl with 1 tbs cinnamon mixed with 2 tbs coconut sugar to the side to roll donuts into after cooking)

      Directions

    • Mix all the dry ingredients in one bowl and all the wet ingredients in a different bowl - once mixed separately combine them

    • If you are frying in coconut oil - form balls and fry roll into cinnamon and coconut sugar afterwards* frying them is the most similar to donuts*

    • If baking set oven to 375 and roll into balls bake for 10 - 15 min.

    • Dip into vegan icing and enjoy!

    • Vegan icing: 3/4 C powdered sugar 3/4 C of plant based butter 2 tbs almond milk mixed with a hand mixer
