This fresh mango salsa is one of our summer favorites. It has a sweet and savory combination that pairs well with so many dishes.Jump to Recipe
Mangos have been so cheap at the grocery store lately and it’s the best time of year to eat them. They have a fun texture and insanely sweet flavor that we love on tacos, in sushi, with chips and on it’s own as a dessert or snack. Mangos and cherries both tend to be what I stock up on most when they are in season. I love finding new fun ways to incorporate them into meals.

The fresh onions and jalapeño add a delicious crunch to the mango salsa. The lime juice and cilantro bring it all together. I promise you the jalapeño bits and mango don’t make it overly spicy but you can easily leave the jalapeño out. We ate an entire batch with tortilla chips the first round of recipe testing and then later ventured out having it on fish tacos by the second batch.
Making your own salsa is the smart move
By making your own salsa with in season ingredients you cut down on cost. You also will get more nutrients out of it and won’t have any questionable ingredients added in (like sugars oils or binders). You will have a vibrant made from scratch flavorful salsa for the family or guests.
Tips to make the best fresh mango salsa:
Pick out a mango that isn’t to squishy and isn’t two hard. I recommend grabbing two mangos. Some mangos do not give off a lot of meat so you may find that you need two mangos. You don’t ant it to be overly ripe and soft because it will produce more liquid juice. This is fine if you don’t mind the texture but I prefer my mango to have a nice slight crunch and a good texture to it.
This mango salsa recipe is easy to make you will only need about 5 minutes once you have all the ingredients chopped up. It will keep in an airtight container for up to a week, although I highly doubt you will have it take long it is so delicious.
