I love brussel sprouts and I love them even more as an appetizer or Happy Hour snack. These bad boys are good as a side dish anytime of year but I will be making them for Super Bowl Sunday this weekend. They have a bit of heat to them and the liquid aminos will tone that down a bit so feel free to add a little less sambal (chili sauce) and a bit more aminos if you aren’t into spicy.
Ingredients:
-
1 pound of brussel sprouts for 3 to 4 people as a snack (depending on how many people you are serving and the size of the brussel sprouts this will vary)
-
Wash and cut into half
-
1/4 C of Sambal sauce (or chili sauce)
-
3 tbs liquid aminos (coconut aminos and soy sauce works as well)
-
1 tbs of avocado oil
-
1 tbs garlic powder
Instructions:
-
Set oven to 400 degrees
-
In a bowl toss the sliced brussels in garlic powder and oil
-
Lay on baking sheet evenly (don’t let them stack otherwise they won’t be as crispy)
-
Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until crispy
-
While they are baking use the same bowl you mixed them in the oil add chili sauce and amino or soy sauce and whisk with a fork
-
Once brussel sprouts are fully cooked and crispy put them into the bowl and toss them with the sauce
-
Place back on baking sheet and cook for another couple of minutes to make them hot
Serve and enjoy!
