I have always been a big fan of savory chex mix - I remember countless road trips as a kid I would chow down on the salty bags of crunchy goodness, I would even the weird brown chips most kids discarded (no food wasted here!) SO I decided to start making my own a few years ago and I am just now getting around to finally sharing it with you all. It takes about 20 minutes (mostly in the oven) and its a few simple ingredients. Not a savory chex mix fan? Well I have a sweet version as well so hang tight. Most savory chex mix recipes are made with Worcestershire sauce which is not vegan, I am not fully vegan however I like to give you options because the more you know, the better!

easy go-to snack during the holidays and on road trips

6 Tbs of butter ( I used plant based butter)
-
3.5 tbs of coconut aminos
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
sprinkle of salt
-
4 C of “chex” mix like cereal ( corn, rice or mixed! They all end up similar in color with the aminos)
-
2 C of regular cheerios (any brand)
-
1 C of Roasted Peanuts
Instructions:
-
Melt butter and whip all chunks out with a fork
-
Add in aminos and seasoning mix well
-
Add in cereal mixture and nuts and mix together well with hands
-
Add to a greased baking dish and cook on 300 for 15 minutes stirring often, cereal will harden once its cooled so try not to over cook!
